Inspired by the Public Art of Madrid
Walking the streets of Madrid this one particular sculputre caught my eye. The sculptor's name Eduardo Chillida. This piece stands about six feet tall and extends approximately 25 feet at its widest point. The three arms that extend off the base look to be the general shapes of pistons from a traditional gas engine. The modern shaped heavy steel demands attention while the negative shape allows the participant to view the constrasting rustic city of Madrid. I believe works like this help define the culture and vision of a city.
